Jansz x Jess Bonde
Following the Daniel Gray-Barnett collaboration, Jansz Tasmania made a deliberate shift for the 2024 season by selecting Jess Bonde, marking the first time photography had been brought into the series. Where Eloise Lark, Jamin, and Daniel Gray-Barnett had each interpreted Tasmania through illustration and drawing, Bonde was commissioned to photograph it. A globally acclaimed adventure and landscape photographer based in Tasmania, he had built a career documenting the kind of terrain most people never reach.
The collaboration extended further than any previous season. The Premium Cuvée gift box launched for the Christmas gifting window, supported by in-store POS across Australian retail. The partnership subsequently extended to the Premium Rosé, released for Valentine's Day and Mother's Day, giving the artwork a longer retail window and broader visibility across the range.
The brief sent Bonde into some of Tasmania's most remote environments: Federation Peak in the Eastern Arthur Range, Barn Bluff in the Central Highlands, and the West Coast Range. The shoots involved unpredictable weather and physically demanding terrain, conditions that are inseparable from what makes those landscapes extraordinary. The gift box featured two photographs, each capturing a different quality of the island: its scale, its roughness, and the particular clarity of light that defines Tasmania at altitude.
The Jess Bonde collaboration marked six years and four distinctly different creative voices working within the same programme, each rooted in Tasmania and bringing a completely different discipline to the brief. The series had become one of the more consistent examples of a gifting programme that genuinely builds brand identity over time rather than resetting it each season.
