Liquid Innovations is a US-based beverage company with an ambitious product pipeline: multiple ranges targeting different occasions, consumers and functional needs, all requiring distinct brand identities and packaging from the ground up.

CocoZen

At the time of launch, coconut water was a nascent category in the US market. Unlike established soft drinks or sports drinks, it needed to earn its place in the shopper's consideration set — explaining what it was, why it was worth choosing, and doing all of that on a 500mL can in the seconds a consumer spends scanning a shelf. The additional challenge was the format itself: coconut water was still largely associated with cartons and pouches. Getting it into a can meant the packaging had to do even more work to communicate freshness and quality.

The response was to lead with clarity. "COCO ZEN" in bold, confident typography takes over the can (not hidden behind illustration or decoration) making the brand impossible to miss and the product immediately legible. "Pure Hydration" sits above as a direct, unambiguous promise to a consumer who may never have bought coconut water before. Each variant gets its own colour-blocked base (deep red for Lychee, warm yellow for Yuzu, soft purple for Passionfruit, clean white for Natural) with an illustrated fruit icon that communicates flavour quickly and naturally. The range feels premium and tropical without being fussy.

B4U

B4U was a more complex brief. Where CocoZen had one core message, B4U needed to communicate flavour, function and nutritional benefit simultaneously — all on a slim can that offers limited canvas space. I developed the brand architecture from the ground up, organising the range around four functional occasions: Boost, Immunity, Detox and Balance. Each variant pairs a distinct fruit combination with a clear benefit, giving shoppers an intuitive way to navigate the range based on need rather than flavour preference alone.

The visual identity was designed to feel graphic and editorial rather than another health product. I developed the geometric line illustration style and completed all the artwork myself — each variant has its own distinct pattern that connects to the flavour and function without being literal about it. The B4U logotype at scale anchors the design and creates immediate shelf presence. Where CocoZen is warm and approachable, B4U is bold and design-forward: a sparkling juice that doesn't look like anything else in the aisle.
